May 2-May 6

This week I worked Monday (5/2) 8-12, Thursday (5/5) 8-12 and Friday (5/6) 8-5  (16 hours total).  On Monday, I unpacked light stand cases, and helped break down a couple sets.  Thursday and Friday I got to watch the Southeastern photo shoot.  Thursday, they shot on the set we painted, then moved upstairs Friday to shoot the rest on a high key background.  I helped Luis assist Toby and I also went to pick up the lunch order for the group on Friday.  The experience was great as this was my first real, professional fashion shoot.  I wanted to observe how Toby directed the models and how they solve little problems like making sure certain features of the wardrobe were visible.  The lighting was basic.  The background was lit and they used a beauty dish on a boom with a reflector wall on the opposite side.  I think the biggest challenge that I faced was trying to keep up with what Toby asked us to do. I didn't quite understand everything he asked for but I tried my best to get clarity where possible and move as fast as I could.
